Message from Imaemon Imaizumi sensei Having inherited the traditions of Iro-Nabeshima from the Edo period, I incorporate sumi hajiki(ink resist), usu zumi(thin ink), fuki zumi(ink spray), and platinum coloring, especially the subtle white sekka sumi hajiki(snowflake ink resist), which is my original technique. I believe that my work is born from the 400 years of Arita's technology and the accumulation of human support. I would like you to enjoy looking at my artworks with honest eyes and with a sense of sensitivity, with phrases like, "It's beautiful" "It draws me in" or "I like it" I believe that this will give birth to a different and deeper sense of beauty.
