Message from Emi Yabuuchi sensei This is a piece inspired by sakura, created using the kinma technique from Kagawa urushi work. It depicts sakura silhouettes with a background carved out, into which blue urushi has been applied over 20 layers. By polishing these layers, intricate patterns emerge, showcasing the unique expression of Kinma. While traditionally a mizusashi is used in the Japanese tea ceremony, I hope you'll enjoy this piece freely as a decoration, a vessel, or simply to appreciate its beauty.

I use landscapes that have deeply moved me as the motifs for my artwork. Utilizing the rich color expressions characteristic of Kagawa's urushi work, I imbue my pieces with elements such as the air, light, wind, sound, and scent that were present but invisible to the eye at the time of the inspiration .

I would be grateful if you could take a part of these memories with you in your heart.
