Message from Masahiro Maeda sensei
In the late 1980s, I developed a technique called “Iroe Yosai,” which uses Western pigments containing very little glass. After shaping porcelain clay on the wheel and firing it, I apply overglaze decoration using masking tape and Western pigments. This method achieves a painterly decorative effect that cannot be expressed with traditional Japanese pigments.

In the late 1980s, I invented the "Iro-e Yosai" technique, in whice Western paints are used with a low glassy quality. Porcelain clay is formed by potter's wheel, and after firing, overglaze painting is done with masking tape and Western paints. It is characterized by a pictorial decorative effect that cannot be expressed by traditional Japanese paints.
I would like to continue to create with the motto of "bright, fun, and beautiful.
